Spoiler Alert!
From time to time, you will be facing new challenges – you will have to solve a smurfy riddle! Of course you should try to figure them out on your own, but if you just can’t figure it out, we have put together a few hints for you. Well, more than hints, but now you have been warned!
You will also find other quests that may not exactly be riddles but appear frequently on the Smurf Village Friends wall.
If you do not wish to know the answers, please skip this Chapter.
Riddle 1
Level 23
Q: “I may seem tough, I may seem dry, but beneath the surface I make you cry. What am I?” Hint: It’s a crop.
Answer: Plant a crop of onions.
Riddle 2
Level 24
Q: “This is a room that has no floor, no walls, no windows, and also no door. What is it?” Hint: It’s a placeable item.
Answer: Place a mushroom (NOT one of the houses) in the village. Any of these mushrooms will be fine!
Riddle 3
Level 25
Q: “Many foods can make me strong, but give me water and I won’t live long. What am I?” Hint: It’s a placeable item.
Answer: Place the fire cauldron in the village.
MAIZE
Not so much a Riddle but a vocabulary test. Papa will ask you to grow a crop of Maize on Level 25.
Answer: Maize = Corn (not the Golden Corn, btw).
Did you know that the word ‘maize’ derives from the Spanish form of the indigenous Taino word “maiz” for the plant? Gotta love Wikipedia!!
FIREFLY FESTIVAL
Level 30
Papa smurf will ask you to place lanterns for the Firefly Festival. Do not place the lamp posts. It is these lanterns with the poles that look like candy canes!
SILLY SQUIRREL
Level 27
You will go through storyboards where Papa Smurf is telling Grouchy a riddle about things that Silly Squirrel likes and does not like. Two quests are asked of you: to place flowers or grass and then a snail or a butterfly.
Answer: Place the graSS and the buTTerfly (items with double letters)
TIP: If you already have a butterfly, instead of buying another one, you can wait until it’s ready to give its bonus to complete the quest.

PAPA’S GIBBERISH
Level 32
Papa Smurf starts speaking gibberish.
Answer: Plant Magic Raspberries (The words above are backwards).
PLACE A KEG
Clumsy will ask you to place a keg. A keg is one of the brown barrels with Smurfberry juice dripping from it (pictured above).
ADD A FLAG
Clumsy will also be involved in a series of storyboards where Papa asks him to place a purple flag. When Clumsy finally gives you the quest, he doesn’t remember what color flag.
ADD AN OUTHOUSE
Gargamel will change himself into a Smurf and try to take over the village from the inside (only discussed in the storyboards and not actually seen in the game). However, Papa Smurf is suspicious and has this mysterious smurf clean the outhouses to prove his worth. Outhouses are bathrooms found outside of buildings (pictured above).
ADD A MAGIC SHRUB
Papa will ask you to add a Magic Shrub to the village. They look like trees and if you click on them you can grow fruits and nuts such as acorns that never wither when they’re ready for harvest. More info here!
UPGRADE THE CHRISTMAS TREE
For the Christmas update you will be asked to upgrade the Christmas Tree. The confusing thing is that there is more than one type of Christmas tree. The one that Papa is referring to is the 750-coin tree. The other Christmas trees cost 150 coins and there is a bare pine tree for 100 coins. You can only buy the 750-coin tree once. Afterwards, the above menu will read “Already Placed”.
This is what the Christmas tree looks like before the upgrade.
Click on the bottom of the tree (where the blue square is in the pic above). The above menu will appear where you can upgrade the tree for 250 coins.
TADA!!! An upgrade Christmas tree with a star on top and lights that glow!

What about the level 27 riddle “Silly Squirrel doesn’t like bucket….”. Youre supposed to plant either flowers or grass. This one has me totally stumped except I don’t think we have grass to plant. I’m just not sure about that weedy looking thing. Help?!

JK, Beeline said they’d be removing this quest with the next update for that reason. I saw another post that said they may sell the pack for coins but I haven’t verified that this came from beeline.

I sure hope they’ll put the Fruity Pack for sale with coins or remove that quest. I am now stuck on the quest to grow Pineapples (level 27). I don’t have smurf berries to buy the Fruity Pack. I was actually looking for a way to bypass the quest when I found your blog. I guess there’s not a way to bypass a quest? I never got the quest to grow Grapes, by the way. I think that’s because I already passed level 18 when they added the Fruity Pack?

Can anyone help me? I am stuck on papa smurfs quest to plant a crop of lettuce, a crop of radishes and a crop of green peppers. I have done this three times and I donor get a quest complete. Help!!!
You have to harvest them all at the same time, Lisa. Try this: plant one crop of lettuce (16h) and the rest golden corn (10h). When the golden corn is ready plant radishes (6h). The lettuce and radish should be ready at the same time. Don’t pick them yet though. Plant the green peppers (5 minutes). Once the peppers are ready harvest the 3. Tada! This of course is assuming you have the golden corn but you catch my drift!

Gil, I’m having the same problem! And even though it’s worse the older the devicce/iOS is, I have an iPad2 and there’s still a delay. I know Beeline has been working on performance issues. Hopefully it’s sooner than later!
Alchemy smurf is asking me to upgrade papa smurfs hut, I already had before the challenge. This seems to not register as completed, what do I do?

Do you lose all the smurfberries that you purchase if you have to go back to the begining after you have finished all the levels or will they be reimbursed by Beeline as I have purchased a considerable amount and can not afford to repurchase them again when I have finished level 39. Thanks for you help I do so enjoy playing this game obviously not a child’s game but one addictive one for adults
Hi, Yvon. You don’t have to go back to the beginning when you finish all the levels. You continue to accumulate XP although it won’t show in the meter until a future update adds more levels. If you do go back to Level 1 though, Beeline has built a failsafe where you start with all the SB you’ve purchased in the past.
in level 27, clumsy want me to add 3 stone pathways. i have bought the stone and put near handy smurf. but it doesn’t complete. what i have to do?
Hi, Stacey! It should’ve completed. Make sure you’re putting down the stone roads and not the walls. If it’s not that then try power cycling and then try the quest again.
Maize: In dutch the word for corn is “mais” so is a easy one for dutch speaking people. Don’t know if that entered our language just as many other latin words or foreign influence from the dutch traveling around, or that it arrived here when the King of Spain ruled over the Netherlands…
I stuck at level 33 with riddle said: “let’s take a picture of the village”. I’ve tried to take a picture but nothing happened. Can anyone help me out?

In Leve 25 if you have updated the papa Smurf potion lab (before) the alchemist Smurf ask to harvest a shrub of Acorns. what fruit are the acorns ??(I try with corn but it didn’t work can you help me thanks).

You must purchase the tree , or also called magic shrub, and then you press on it and select acorns
How do i upgrade the christmas three?
I have just moved onto level 24 and realised that my Grouchy smurf is missing. In the last level one of the quests was for Grouchy to go for 24 hours. I completed that quest and now i cant seem to see him anywhere…did i miss something?
Hi, I have purchased a lot of Xmas items in the last update and fear that I will lose them in the next update as I just noticed that all the pumpkins and the tombstones I purchased a few weeks ago have disappeared since the winter update. Can you store these items in the storage shed and keep them for next Xmas or have I just been silly buying something that will disappear in the next update. The cornacorvia,rotunda, the turkey statue are still on my game but should I store them in the storage shed before the next update together with the swings the snow rabbit, candy canes, xmas trees, snowmen, snow smurf which I have purchased since this winter update. Also has anyone else had trouble sending gifts and watering plants since the update. Thanks cheers Yvon
When you are on level 32 papa smurf is saying plant some strawberries I think
Is there by any chance we can go back to just with 1 tap then we can water plants for our friends. Currently it needs to load and it’s getting very slow and most of the time it hangs and the app just got auto shut off. Furthermore, many times even though we’d watered the plants for our friends, the plants still got withered. What is the problem here?
Currently Papa has a task for me that is “upgrade the Christmas tree”. What does that mean and what do I need to do? I had already purchased the Xmas tree that cost 750 from a previous task (“buy a Xmas tree”). I noticed that there are other Xmas trees that are less expensive. So I started to wonder if I should have purchased the cheaper ones in the previous task and now buy the 750-coin tree. But I was following the blue arrow that pointed to the big tree… so I am confused and stuck. Please help!

Is it true do not purchase laterns for the fireflies festival? Why does papa smurf say to buy it? I am at level 30 and I do not want to take a chance with ruining the village. However, I find it very disappointing that when you get that high you can’t do what papa smurf instructs you to do. Please advise!

The answer is tomato for red, sweet and more than ne bite &leafy with heart in the middle is an artichoke. Hope this helps!

Hi There, I’m little annoyed as I got a MSG in a bottle on the Island telling me to send 3 smurfs out on a raft. For 24 hours. But I don’t understand what happened as I sent them and for 5 days it would go down to about 11 hours to come back then the next time I would look at it. It would be back at 22 hours. This just kept repeating over 5 days. I didn’t use smurf berries to bring back. Didn’t say I had to. Did anyone else have this problem. So I couldn’t even conqour one request let alone 5 although I had the smurfs to do the quest please help

Papa smurf and sporty smurf on the island want me to harvest a palm crop or a crop way up there. The only thing that I could think of was a pineapple. I saved up my berries to buy the fruity pack to get the pineapples and I planted and harvested them and it didn’t work for either of them. What do they want me to plant?
